Cross-country skiers are definitely on the right lane when in the Kaprun region! Daily, superbly prepared 60 km cross-country trail kilometres – for skaters and traditional skiers – offer unrestricted cross-country skiing pleasure on site! All cross-country trail kilometres can be easily connected and thus, result in an additional 200 kilometres due to the connection to the Pinzgauer and Saalach valley cross-country skiing network. The “Schloßloipe” and the "Brunnwiesloipe" lead over rather flat terrain and are therefore, perfect for beginners and ski enthusiasts!
Furthermore, ambitious cross-country skiers can also use 2 cross-country high altitude trails: the high altitude cross-country trail on the Schmitten (2 km) and the glacier-cross-country high altitude trail in Kaprun at 2,900 metres above sea level. You can start to ride these cross-country ski runs after the first snowfall in autumn.
Just 500 metres away from the Appartementhaus Auernigg, you also have the untiring option of leisurely doing a few laps after dark. The 5 km long circular trail is illuminated everyday until 22:00.
